Valentina use via API

on Fri Jan 05, 2018 6:57 pm
I have a German guy, who asked me
- is it possible to use valentina as API?
- in that way to use it as REST API in webserver or via command line tool where to use .vit and .val files as parameters?

I didn't have answers to his. Does any of you know?

Hi,

It is depend on how do you define word API. We have several command line arguments. Number can also be extended. Even more flexibility could give a built in script language. PyValentina very promising in this case.

If i undertood you correct you want call Valentina on server side without GUI. If it is correct then yes, you can use command line options for this. We have positive experience in this way of using Valentina.

You can give your friend links to man pages those describe all command lines we support now: valentina_manpage.pdf and tape_manpage.pdf. He can ask me if something still is unclear.
